RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT
From Material
to Solution.
Our Future Technology Center is more than a laboratory: it is where technical requirements become new materials. We develop, test, and validate independently of manufacturers and close to the conditions under which systems operate. From material concept to prototype, we support the entire journey.
INDEPENDENT IN-HOUSE RESEARCH
From initial concept to validated sample.
Research, prototyping, and characterization are integrated at Ceram, with the goal of improving products and processes ecologically and technically and opening up new environmental application fields.
We examine catalysts independently of design and manufacturer. Because material development, process development, and series production are located at one site, laboratory findings are transferred seamlessly into production, from material through process to finished product.
KEY CAPABILITIES
- Future Technology Center: In the Future Technology Center, we develop new ceramic materials, test new geometries, and manufacture prototypes, from initial formulation to extruded R&D sample.
- Chemical & Physical Characterization: We carry out comprehensive chemical and physical analyses, including mechanical and thermal testing, for precise evaluation of sample condition, activity, and properties.
- Catalyst Analysis & Performance Testing: We test catalysts independently, regardless of design and manufacturer. Using mini-reactors and a bench reactor, we evaluate condition, activity, and aging behavior for both fresh and aged samples.
DETAILED DESIGN
Different scales, the same standard.
SCR catalysts and ceramic heat exchangers follow different physical laws, but both designs begin at the same point: the specific operating data of the system. In both cases, precise understanding of the process determines the quality of the solution.

CORE COMPETENCIES

From initial design to commissioning, Ceram supports the entire process. Ceram accompanies the entire process. Catalyst design is system-specific, in close coordination with the client, with the goal of maximum performance at optimized operating costs.

Ceramic heat storage media from Ceram form the core of regenerative heat recovery systems. Developed and manufactured in Frauental, they offer high thermal efficiency and long service life and are designed for a broad spectrum of industrial processes.

Ceram reliably transfers developed solutions into series production. Defined manufacturing processes, rigorous quality assurance, and flexible capacities at the Frauental site ensure that every delivered component meets the same technical standard as the validated sample.
