CERAMIC HONEYCOMB CATALYSTS
Technologically leading
ceramic honeycomb catalysts.
Powerful and robust.
Since 1985, Ceram Austria has been developing and manufacturing ceramic honeycomb catalysts that reliably and demonstrably reduce nitrogen oxides and organic pollutants in thousands of industrial plants. Today, our catalysts reduce 125,000 tons of NOx worldwide every year.
CATALYST TECHNOLOGY
From cell geometry to the finished SCR module.
Catalysts are supplied as individual elements, cassettes, or complete catalyst modules. Ceram Austria offers a wide range of cell geometries in standard cross-sections and variable extruded lengths with different formulations for performance- and cost-optimized design. Ceram Austria designs and produces all SCR modules in-house and can therefore respond quickly and flexibly to customer requirements and meet the most demanding quality standards.
PERFORMANCE FEATURES
- Highest NOx selectivity: Optimized formulations for the selective catalytic reduction of nitrogen oxides over a wide temperature range.
- Excellent VOC adsorption: High adsorption and oxidation activity for organic pollutants, such as dioxins and furans.
- Operational reliability & robustness: Proven in long-term operation with a verified service life of over 36,000 operating hours.
- 125,000 t NOx/year are reduced by Ceram catalysts worldwide.

PRODUCT VARIANTS
The optimal product for every requirement.
Whether it is a coal-fired power plant with high dust loads, a gas turbine, or a marine engine: Ceram Austria supplies honeycomb catalysts in application-specific cell geometry and composition.

STATIONARY PLANTS ▪ HIGH DUST
Power plants ▪ Waste incineration ▪ Process industry
The large-cell geometry is designed for high dust loads in the flue gas. The minimized risk of clogging ensures high catalyst activity throughout the entire operating life. This variant is used in coal- and oil-fired power plants, waste incineration plants, and heavy industry, including glass, cement, and steelworks, as well as carbon black production plants.

STATIONARY PLANTS ▪ LOW DUST
Gas and biomass power plants ▪ Refinery
The medium cell geometry is designed for low-dust flue gas streams in low-dust and tail-end configurations. The increased geometric surface area ensures high activity with low pressure loss. Typical areas of application are waste incineration, biomass power plants, refineries, and chemical and petrochemical process plants.

GAS TURBINE & HRSG
Simple Cycle ▪ Combined Cycle
Our high-performance catalysts for low-dust gas turbine exhaust gases feature cell geometries of up to 75 × 75 cells (161 cpsi) and are compatible with all common standard SCR modules. The variant is available both as a pure NOx catalyst and as a NOx/CO combination catalyst.

MARINE & STATIONARY ENGINES
Marine engines ▪ Stationary engines
Our specially developed SCR catalysts for marine engines and large stationary engines offer a cell density of up to 300 cpsi and temperature resistance of up to 550°C. The high aging resistance enables long-term operation in marine applications, stationary power generation, and emergency power generators for system-critical facilities and data centers. They are available as individual elements or as ready-to-install cassette modules.

OXI-COMBINATION CATALYST
CO ▪ VOC ▪ NOx
This combined oxidation and SCR catalyst is designed for applications with strict CO and hydrocarbon limits and simultaneously removes nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide, and volatile organic compounds. The ceramic carrier body made of TiO₂ and V₂O₅ is partially coated with precious metals, thus additionally enabling the oxidation of carbon monoxide. Typical applications are sulfur-free processes such as gas turbines and gas engines.

MOBILE APPLICATIONS
Off-Highway ▪ Locomotives ▪ Commercial vehicles
Our SCR diesel catalysts for off-highway machinery, heavy commercial vehicles, and locomotives have a round cross-section in standard dimensions from 5.66" to 12". High catalytic activity is maintained even at low exhaust gas temperatures. This variant is primarily used in heavy industry, mining, and mobile logistics.
PRECISION MANUFACTURING IN EUROPE
From raw material weighing to delivery.
Every honeycomb catalyst from Ceram Austria undergoes a precisely controlled production process, from the weighing of raw materials to quality release. Every single element receives a unique tracking number for complete traceability back to the incoming goods inspection of the raw materials.
