SCR Plate Catalysts
CERAM produces plate catalysts for use in the energy industry. The catalyst material, which mainly consists of titanium dioxide, tungsten and vanadia, is applied to a stainless steel substrate and subsequently calcined. Plate-type catalysts are particularly suitable for applications with very high ash fuels (> 15 to 25%) or for other applications in which the fly ash is prone to cause clogging (e.g., Powder River Basin or “PRB” subbituminous coal). Honeycomb catalysts are more prone to clogging with these problematic ash quantities or composition where a relatively larger pitch opening would be required, which leads to increased and uneconomical catalyst volumes.
