SCR Honeycomb Catalysts

Ceram Austria GmbH has been producing homogeneously extruded honeycomb catalysts since 1985. This catalyst product mainly consists of titanium oxide, tungsten oxide and vanadium pentoxide. The required mechanical strength is achieved by adding glass fibres.

The catalysts are used as an integral component inthe SCR process (Selective Catalytic Reduction). This process is used in fossil fuel power plants, waste incineration plants, stationary diesel engines, industrial plants and heavy commercial vehicles. The nitrogen oxide compounds contained in the flue gases are converted into nitrogen and water vapor, both natural constituent elements of air. This is a significant contribution to reducing ground-level ozone, acid rain and the greenhouse effect.

CERAM catalysts are successfully used in a wide variety of applications worldwide. Each of our clients benefits from our diverse experience including nearly every conceivable fuel type and quality.

Looking Ahead

Assessing the catalyst condition (through reactor inspection) and properties (activity and chemical analysis) of aged elements helps to accurately determine the remaining service life. This information is used to determine the remaining operating reactor potential. This is critical to reliably predict remaining operating time in order to assure performance objectives are achieved. Predictions based on operating reactor potential offer the longest projection horizon for catalyst additions and replacements in conjunction with planned outage objectives. We offer this additional service not only to our product customers, but also to all users of other catalyst brands through our CATLife® program.

CATLife® Services Program maximizes catalyst utilization :

CERAM´s CATLife® after-market services program is targeted at minimizing the costs and risks associated with catalyst and SCR system operation. This comprehensive program is offered in a number of countries. A custom service solution is developed to meet every power station operator’s individual needs.

CERAM’s CATLife® program offers the following services:

  • Ammonia injection grid tuning
  • SCR operations data assessment, reporting and troubleshooting
  • Reactor inspections and reporting
  • Catalyst testing and results analysis
  • Catalyst management planning
  • Manage CATLife® Model - proprietary software for evaluation of various SCR operations and catalyst management strategies
  • Catalyst rejuvenation and regeneration assessments and procurement support
  • Fuel change assessments
  • SCR operations and maintenance planning
  • Minimum operating temperature assessments
  • Increased NOx removal assessments and implementation
